2016 International Intelligent Manufacturing Conference held with high-profile

 

As the most influential industrial automation event in Northern China, Industrial Automation BEIJING 2016 (IA BEIJING 2016) came to a successful close at Beijing Exhibition Center on May 13, 2016. The three-day show achieved a new record high by attracting 210 leading enterprises to showcase within a display area of 22,000 sqm, the international exhibitors accounted for 65%. 14 concurrent conferences were held, 85 business meetings were arranged and the total visits were up to 17,591, a 5.3% increase compared with last year. The setting of new record highs yet again acknowledges the market’s respect for IA BEIJING, as well as further cementing itself as an industry trendsetter.

With the approaching of the 4th Industrial Revolution, countries worldwide launched their own national strategies towards smart manufacturing. Held concurrently with IA BEIJING for the 3rd year, 2016 International Intelligent Manufacturing Conference discussed the three concepts, “Made in China 2025”, German “Industrie 4.0” and the United States “Industrial Internet” at the same time, bringing an intelligent brainstorming among the three countries.

International Exhibitors Showcasing Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions

Since the launching of “Made in China 2025” strategy, intelligent manufacturing has become the key factor to upgrade and renovate China’s traditional industry. This year’s show gathered global automation leading enterprises from Austria, Germany, France, South Korea, Holland, the United States, Japan, Switzerland, Turkey, Singapore, Italy, Israel to showcase intelligent manufacturing solutions under the display sections of sensor and connector, motion control and machinery infrastructure, aiming to illuminate the upgrading and transforming path of Chinese manufacturing industry.

Most enterprises made full use of the integrity of the domestic industry chain and gradually achieved the transition from product display to solution display, bringing an intelligent manufacturing solution show. HIWIN doubled its display area after three years’ consecutive participation and launched the latest Industrie 4.0 automation solutions with linear guide rail and mechanical arm within a display area of 180 sqm. Both TURCK and ELCO took participate in the show for the fourth year consecutively. TURCK showcased the IMX series fence with the most cutting-edge craft and ELCO brought a series of products including ElcoPad mobile intelligent terminal, DataBox and RFID Q80 UHF read-record head. Other exhibiting companies included BALLUFF, B&R, Rittal, ifm, Cognex, Schmalz, Klemsan, Koyo, Weidmüller, Steute, Dinkle, Harting, EPLAN, Autonics, HUMMEL, GSK and ICPDAS.

High-profile Conferences in Discussion of Key Topics

Every year, a series of concurrent conferences in discussion of key topics have definitely highlighted the show. Among them, the high-profile Intelligent Manufacturing Conference has been held along with IA BEIJING for the consecutive 3rd year in 2016. This year’s conference discussed the three concepts, “Made in China 2025”, German “Industrie 4.0” and the United States “Industrial Internet” at the same time, bringing an intelligent brainstorming among the three countries.

Mr. Miao Wei, Minister of MIIT delivered a speech on “Advanced Intelligent Manufacturing Industry and Raise the Country’s Manufacturing Power”, announcing that in the future the Chinese government would focus on the development of several key sectors including intelligent logistic, robots, intelligent sensors, etc. Mr. Lu Yongxiang, Academician of CAS and CAE, Honorary President of CMES, Mr. Burkhard Ducoffre, Counselor, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and Mr. Val Huston, Principle Commercial Officer, U.S. Embassy in Beijing also made their addresses. The conference was proceeded in three plenaries of “Strategy and Policy of Intelligent Manufacturing Development”, “Contents and Systems of Intelligent Manufacturing” and “Practice and Paths of Intelligent Manufacturing”.

In addition, a series of spectacular conferences including “the 4th Industrial Robot • Automation Application Conference 2016”, “PROFINET—Drive Technology Innovation, Promote Chinese Manufacturing” Summit Forum and “Chinese-German-American Roundtable Meeting” were also held during the show, providing a thought-provoking platform for speakers and audiences to communicate.

A Demo Display Area for Intelligent Manufacturing Set up

This year’s show invited top-notch enterprises advocating Industrie 4.0 to display varieties of demo or model, making the concept visible and perceptible. In PROFINET Summit Forum, a demo display area for Industrie 4.0 and intelligent manufacturing is especially set up, showcasing products such as full integrated automation system as well as intelligent plant demonstration system, bringing a high-end intelligent manufacturing contest.

Siemens showcased Industrie 4.0 conveyor belt and other pioneer companies and research institutes including PHOENIX Contact, Red Lion Controls, GE, OPC UA, SAP and Shenyang Institute of Automation Chinese Academy of Sciences also made their presence with Industrie 4.0 demos.

Strong Lineup of Buyer Delegations and Full Coverage of Media Report

Over the years, IA BEIJING has won great praise from many notable buyers and exhibitors through precise buyer plan. This year, more than 60 outstanding enterprises from automobile manufacturing, auto parts, machine tools, electronics manufacturing, aviation and aerospace, rail transportation, machinery manufacturing, chemical and pharmaceutical industries formed VIP buyer delegations of over 2000 people to visit the show. 85 business meetings were arranged during the show, providing an ideal platform for trade and business.

Meanwhile, journalists from CCTV, Xinhua News Agency, China News Service, China Industry News and China Trade News came to report on the show, delivering first-hand news to the public. Also, to keep the pace with the times, IA BEIJING 2016 enhanced investment in new media-based publicity campaign. A series of promotion events were launched on the official wechat public platform of IA BEIJING to strengthen the interaction with visitors.
